RAQTweak Data Recovery for Cobalt RAQ, BlueQuartz and RACKSTAR Servers
A crashed server or even worse, a hacked server, no : Worst case scenario! But, it happens, way to often!
Over the years, RAQTweak experts have helped numerous people recover data so they had their customers up and running again in a matter of hours. Sometimes it took days of hard work, but we managed to get it all up again.
We've seen it all. Unbootable server, partition corruption, broken IDE controllers to a mirrored set of corrupted drives. In all of those cases, we were able to recover most of the data, so our customer's customers barely noticed!

"We had an old RAQ4 that actually served us quite well. I was looking at the RACKSTAR upgrade a week before, but since my schedule was rather full I had to postpone a migration to our new RACKSTAR server. A week later, I regretted not making time for this. Our RAQ crashed. After consulting RAQTweak we found out an easy way to do it was not possible. Our IDE controller had crashed and there was no way we could easily recover it or do a late migration. RAQTweak was able to help us out by recovering the data of a mounted drive, and recreating a live system on one of their own RAQs. After fixing this half broken replica of our server, they were able to import it on our new RACKSTAR server. It's been running great ever since!"

"We had a RAQ550, running two disks in RAID1 mode. I thought I would be protected from data corruption when a drive would fail... I assumed wrong. One of the drives failed, but before it completely crashed it mirrored its corrupt data on the working drive. The result was that the data on both drives got corrupted. As always in disaster situations, the backup we had was a few months old. When I consulted RAQTweak, they advised me to bring the server over, which I did. After a few days, they were able to recover everything of the server, reinstall it with new drives and install the data and sites back on the server. Although the sites were down for a little while, I did not lose face. Instead, my customers complimented me on the speedy recovery and professional service!"
