The RackStar Appliance Software was developed by the RAQTweak Development Team to provide continuous support for all those RAQ Fans. The RackStar Appliance Software is based on Fedora Core 4 and the Sun/Cobalt RAQ550 Sausalito code, released by Sun Microsystems on 24th December 2003. Ever since Sun announced the EOL of the RAQ series, we received numerous E-Mails on what the future would be for RAQ users. Behold, the future is here! RACKSTAR!

With this upgrade, we will upgrade the firmware of your RAQ server, so you can run the RACKSTAR OS. You now do not have to retire your poor old RAQ but can extend it's life expectancy by a good few years.

With many additional features and numerous bug fixes, the RackStar Appliance Software is the best alternative for the Sun Cobalt RAQ. Worried about upgrading? No need to fear. Migration from a Sun Cobalt RAQ is very easy!

You can now upgrade your RAQ to use this new, more stable, more secure and less buggy operating system. Installation is very simple and only takes 20 minutes (automated partitioning, formatting, installation and configuration on the drives).
Don't worry about losing data. With our (optional) backup and restore service we can backup all data and restore it on the new OS. Sites, users, passwords, email, everything!
